Job summary

Dover Precision Components in Houston, TX, is seeking a 1st shift Machine Operator to set up and operate machine tools such as compression molding presses, blenders, ovens, and routing machines.

The ideal candidate will follow job orders for specifications, properly position tools, monitor machine operation, and verify parts meet tolerances. High school diploma required; prior shop experience and basic computer skills are a plus. Safety policies must be followed.

Qualifications

• Clear communication, both oral and written.
• Organization skills; keep area clean to 5S standards.
• Prior shop or mechanical experience desired.
• Must work according to safety policies and procedures.
• Basic computer skills.
• Mental/Visual/Physical Effort: Walks, stands, reaches, and bends frequently.

Responsibilities

• Follows job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, tooling instructions, fixtures, and equipment settings.
• Selects, positions, and secures tool in tool holder; moves controls to position press and work piece.
• Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of work piece to specifications.
