Job description

Summary:

The Production Machine Operator will safely control various machines and equipment involved in production. Machine operators are required to comply with all MPI policies and procedures. The operator is required to complete the necessary training and documentation to run the equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Operates production machinery, in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machine may include lathes, grinders, mills, punch presses, and similar equipment.
  2. Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerance
  3. Maintains work center quality, units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
  4. Prepare materials and complete changeovers of machine tooling
  5. Handle materials safely, reducing risk to themselves and others. Reduce the risk of damaging the materials.
  6. Inspect equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment, perform basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
  7. Perform and maintain basic cleaning of the work area every shift
  8. Read blueprints, drawings, specifications and utilize sample parts for the operation
  9. All other duties assigned

Required Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

0-1 year of relevant experience


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:


  • Time Management
  • Problem Solving Skills
  • Good understanding of basic mathematics

Ability to:

  • Read blueprints
  • Read measuring devices (Tape Measures, etc.)
  • Work alone with little to no direction
  • Use proper personal protective equipment

Strength Level: 25-40 pounds

***anything over 40 pounds will need two people or lifting assist device***
