Job Description

We are seeking a Machine Operator for our First Shift. Responsibilities include operating production machine tools, monitoring machine operations, conducting visual quality checks, and completing production paperwork and ERP entries.

Requirements
Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Read job specifications, travelers, and log tickets to determine material requirements.
  2. Check coil stock at machine to verify correct material requirements.
  3. Ensure correct positioning of material in take-up rolls, adjust, and secure work product.
  4. Monitor multiple machines, such as high-speed stamping presses that expand copper or aluminum.
  5. Detect defects or machine malfunctions and report immediately.
  6. Inspect products for visual defects and measure at key points for accuracy.
  7. Log in and out of jobs and enter information into ERP system accurately.
  8. Perform minor machine maintenance, such as adding oil.
  9. Remove finished rolls and move to designated area with paperwork.
  10. Wear safety equipment like gloves and goggles.
  11. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with expanded mesh is a plus.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Basic math skills and ability to read and complete production paperwork.
  • Knowledge of machines, tools, and quality control processes.
  • Ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Logical thinking and mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Work Environment
  • Frequent use of hands and arms, bending, and moving about machinery.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
  • Exposure to grease, chips, oil, chemicals, fumes, moving parts, vibration, and noise.
  • No business travel required.
