The Production Operator is responsible for tasks associated with running and maintaining production lines, as well as maintaining production records.
Duties:
- Perform routine production tasks, including loading and unloading coils and reels.
- Make splices to connect reels and repair breaks in incoming reels.
- Maintain proper operating levels in tanks and manage part/contact rinses.
- Adjust rectifiers and maintain anode baskets.
- Monitor the production line, report equipment failures, leaks, bath temperatures, and complete checklists and records accurately.
- Handle scrap material properly and ensure coils are strapped and loaded correctly.
- Perform preventive maintenance as outlined on applicable forms, including tasks like changing cleaners, acids, rinses, and contact inspection.
- Install or remove tooling for line setup changes, ideally in advance while the line is running.
- Run pre-production samples to verify product conformance before line start-up.
- Install chemistries and prepare anodes and mechanical wipes in advance when possible.
- Maintain cleanliness by sweeping and mopping floors.
- Troubleshoot basic and advanced problems effectively.
- Select and use appropriate safety equipment at all times.
