Job description

Operators are system experts in their assigned area and are highly functional in multiple areas. Operators must also ensure efficiency, operational conformance, product quality, and continuous improvement. They function as members of an area team responsible for the efficient production of quality products in the required quantities.

Responsibilities include operating and changing over specified machinery, performing deep cleanings, maintaining supplies, filling out paperwork, and performing cleaning, inspection, and lubrication tasks (CILs). All tasks should be performed while adhering to and encouraging the Five Principles of Mars.

What are we looking for?
Qualifications
  • Minimum: Grade 12 or High School diploma, or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Associate's degree or higher in engineering or manufacturing-related disciplines.

Experience:

  • Minimum: N/A
  • Preferred: Two or more years in a food manufacturing environment with automated processes, including PLC/HMI. Experience in lean manufacturing is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Minimum: Medium skills in math, communication, computer, and problem-solving.
  • Preferred: Strong skills in math, communication, computer, and problem-solving, with experience in TPM environments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent pushing, pulling, dumping, and rolling of barrels (25-105 kgs).
  • Frequent cleaning of extruders, cooling tunnels, and conveyor systems.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping, and bending.

The primary function is to operate all equipment in the assigned area, ensuring quality, safety, and performance standards are met.

Responsibilities include:

  • Effective communication with team leaders and peers.
  • Following proper escalation protocols.
  • Accurately filling out HACCP and military sheets.
  • Supporting a safe working environment.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization per 5S standards.
  • Performing cleanouts and changeovers per standards.
  • Participating in TPM teams.

  • Ability to stop the process upon noticing non-conformance, following escalation protocols.
  • Identifying and suggesting improvements to team leads.

Compensation

The starting base pay range is USD 24.60 - USD 33.82, with potential variations based on individual factors. The total package may include variable pay, benefits, 401k, and paid time off, depending on the position and schedule.
