Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator I to operate production equipment in a safe and efficient manner, following established procedures.

The role requires setting up the work area, loading materials, and maintaining an orderly, compliant workspace during shifts. Responsibilities include completing pre-shift inspections, recording production data, ensuring product quality, and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling.
• Basic math skills preferred.
• Willingness to learn and follow established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Completes work area setup and operates the machine per procedures.
• Feeds and runs production machine safely and efficiently.
• Stacks completed products and labels/bands components if required.
• Keeps work area clean, organized, and safe for operation.
• Performs pre-shift startup inspections and reports issues.
• Maintains production records and checks materials/finished products for standards.
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.

Job SummaryMachine Operator I is responsible for the set up and operation of a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Secures and maintains material and supplies required on the operation.Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesCompletes work area set up.Operates and feeds the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finished product.Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.Completes pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.Maintains production records as required.Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma/GED is preferred but not required.Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling is required.Working knowledge of basic math preferredHigh school diploma/GED preferred but not required.Must be at least 18 years of age.Click here to watch what a day in the life of a Machine Operator looks like.The Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
