Job summary

JBS in Ottumwa, Iowa is seeking a 1st Shift Lead QA Technician (Cold Side) to monitor quality and ensure food safety. The role leads a team, fills in for supervisors, and supports production objectives while upholding company safety guidelines.

Ideal candidate has QA experience, strong communication, and at least a high school diploma; a Bachelor’s degree is a plus. This is a full-time, on-site position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• English communication required (written and verbal).
• Production experience in a food processing facility preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in applicable field preferred.
• Experience working in Quality Assurance.
• Computer skills required.
• Good attendance record (less than 3 points).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate quality levels of product, areas, and people.
• Ensure all safety guidelines are followed.
• Follow all food safety requirements.
• Work with management to achieve production objectives.
• Perform various other duties as needed.
• Fill in supervisor absence.
• Lead groups of employees through tasks.
• Provide training.

SALARY CLASS : Non- E xempt

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.
• Production experience preferred in a food processing facility.
• High School degree or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field preferred.
• Experience working in Quality Assurance

• Good attendance record (Less than 3 points, for internal candidates)
