Description

Title: Receiving Forklift Operator

Status: Hourly

Location: Toccoa Plant

Department: Lamination/Warehouse

Reports to: Lamination/Warehouse Supervisor

Purpose/Responsibilities:

To support plant operations by optimizing resources to meet or exceed goals and customer expectations.

Essential Functions:

  1. Follow all safety, quality, production, materials, and plant policies and procedures.
  2. Demonstrate behavior aligning with plant expectations and CITE principles.
  3. Complete all required training for the assigned area.
  4. Acquire and maintain an active AWC forklift license; previous experience is a plus.
  5. Operate forklift safely and efficiently.
  6. Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
  7. Be computer literate, including Outlook, Microsoft Office, and role-specific software.
  8. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  9. Sort and identify wood parts by size and finish.
  10. Inspect and verify incoming materials.
  11. Perform quality checks and input data into Infinity software.
  12. Report material transactions accurately, including scrap/salvage.
  13. Complete all paperwork and data entry daily.
  14. Learn and execute receiving procedures for trucks.
  15. Load and unload trucks as needed.
  16. Create and print tickets for finished materials.
  17. Maintain warehouse integrity and proper inventory management.
  18. Conduct cycle counts and floor counts regularly.
  19. Troubleshoot machine issues and report them promptly.
  20. Perform preventative maintenance and daily checks on equipment.
  21. Keep the work area clean and organized according to 5S standards.
  22. Maintain a safe work environment.
  23. Participate in Kaizen, TPM, and cross-functional teams.
  24. Cross-train in other areas as needed.
  25. Assist in departmental tasks as required.
  26. Train new or backup operators using certified peer trainer tools.
  27. Promote a positive team environment.
  28. Work scheduled hours and shifts as necessary.
  29. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED preferred; extensive process knowledge may substitute. Manufacturing experience and willingness to learn are essential. Strong team support, performance, and commitment to continuous improvement are required. Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents and communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.

Mathematical Skills:

Basic math skills for inventory and job verification tasks.

Reasoning Skills:

Ability to identify problems, analyze data, and follow instructions.

Physical Demands:

Regularly required to see, hear, talk, crouch, use stairs, stand, bend, reach, and walk. Frequently handle and lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

Indoor and outdoor manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise levels. PPE such as hearing protection and safety glasses are required. Occasional weekend or off-shift work may be necessary.
