Job summary

FXI in High Point, NC is seeking a Guillotine Machine Operator to operate a foam-cutting guillotine and contribute to production goals.

You will read orders, measure, cut foam to exact dimensions, perform safety checks, and maintain a clean, safe work area. This on-site role supports our foam manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Site Overview:

Our High Point, North Carolina facility is a nonunion manufacturing plant with approximately 55 employees. The site specializes in producing polyurethane foam and other foam products. As a key location within FXI's manufacturing network, the High Point plant is known for its strong focus on quality, safety, and operational excellence. Team members work in a collaborative, supportive environment where continuous improvement and innovation play a central role.

Job Overview:

A Guillotine Machine Operator in the foam industry is responsible for operating a guillotine cutting machine to cut foam materials into specific sizes and shapes according to production orders and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate foam-cutting guillotine machines.
• Measure, mark, and cut foam products to required dimensions.
• Read and interpret work orders, specifications, and cutting schedules.
• Inspect finished foam pieces for accuracy and quality.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and safety checks.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Record production data and report any equipment issues.
• Minimize material waste and maximize production efficiency.

Skills / Qualifications:

• Ability to read measurements and use measuring tools accurately.
• Basic math skills.
• Attention to detail and quality control.
• Mechanical aptitude and machine operating experience.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
• Ability to lift and move foam materials as required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
• Experience with foam fabrication, converting, or upholstery production is an advantage.
