Job summary

Penmac Staffing Services, Inc. in Rolla, Missouri, is seeking General Laborers to join our manufacturing partner on 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. shifts. The schedule rotates: work 2 to 3 days, then 2 to 3 days off. The pay rate is $17.50 per hour and will be paid weekly, with potential overtime based on production needs.

You will perform manual material handling, assist machine operators, clean work areas, stock shelves, and help maintain safe and orderly production spaces.

Responsibilities

• Assist in load/unload and transport materials manually or with powered equipment.
• Drive the sweeper.
• Maintain pulp system (no pit entry due to ladder restriction).
• Assist machine operators, shippers and other workers.
• Carry out general duties such as painting, cleaning and other manual tasks.
• Clean eye wash stations, lens cleaning stations and extinguishers.
• Clean work areas and equipment; remove scrap and dust.
• Assist in stores by stocking shelves and keeping stockroom tidy.
• Remove trash and maintain production material supplies.
• Train or assist training of new workers.
• Perform tasks with adherence to safety and housekeeping procedures.
• Participate in training programs to keep skills current.

Job description

Penmac is seeking General Laborers in Rolla, Mo. At a leading manufacturer of molded fiber egg cartons. Hours are 8 am to 8 pm Work schedule is as follows. Work 2 to 3 days on and 2 to 3 days off. Pay rate is $17.50 an hour.

JOB FUNCTION: Carry out a variety of manual and general labor duties including material handling and routine general labor duties. Provide coverage and relief for production workers when required.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in load/unload and transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant and storage areas manually or using powered equipment including a forklift
• Drive the sweeper
• Maintain pulp system (does not include climbing into pit due to ladder restriction)
• Assist machine operators, shippers and other workers when required
• Carry out general duties such as basic painting, cleaning and other manual tasks
• Clean and maintain eye wash stations, lens cleaning stations and fire extinguishers
• Clean work areas and equipment, removing scrap, dust and other byproducts from machinery and surrounding areas
• Assist other workers to move, sort and pile materials and products manually and using power equipment
• Assist in stores by stocking shelves, keeping stockroom clean and tidy.
• Remove trash and litter from manufacturing area and grounds
• Maintain an adequate supply of production materials replenishing when necessary
• Train or assist in training new workers
• Perform all tasks assigned with adherence to safety and housekeeping procedures
• Participate in specific training programs to keep skills current
