Job summary

Aapstaff is seeking a General Labor / Production Associate in Streamwood, IL 60107. This full-time role supports blending, mixing, and packaging lines in a food manufacturing facility. Shift is 1st (6am – 2:30pm) with a pay rate of $15.00 per hour.

We emphasize safety, GMPs, and SQF standards. Prior manufacturing or warehouse experience is a plus; candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand through the shift. Reliable transportation to the Streamwood site is important.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and stage raw ingredients for baking and packaging.

• Ensure proper sealing and apply product IDs and labels.
• Maintain a clean work area and comply with GMP and SQF standards.
• Move finished pallets using pallet jacks to warehouse or staging areas.
• Follow PPE requirements and facility safety rules.

Job Summary

We are seeking reliable, hard-working General Laborers / Production Associates to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will support the daily operations of our blending, mixing, and packaging lines. This is a physically demanding position that requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and food manufacturing hygiene standards (GMPs).

Key Responsibilities

• Material Handling: Load, unload, and stage raw baking ingredients (such as flour, sugar, and specialty powders).
• Accurately weigh and measure ingredients according to batch sheets.
• Production Support: Safely dump ingredients into industrial mixers and blenders according to standard operating procedures.
• Packaging & Labeling: Operate packaging equipment to fill bags, boxes, or totes with finished product.
• Ensure proper sealing and apply accurate, legible product identification and barcode labels.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean work area throughout the shift. Wash, sanitize, and prepare equipment for product changeovers in strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and SQF standards.
• Warehouse Assistance: Use manual or electric pallet jacks to move finished pallets to designated warehouse or staging areas.
• Safety Compliance: Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), safety glasses, and steel-toed boots. Follow all facility safety rules to prevent accidents.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment is preferred; food manufacturing or commercial baking experience is a major plus.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to repetitively lift, carry, and push/pull up to 50 lbs throughout an 8- to 12-hour shift. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach continuously.
• Skills: Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication) for measuring weights and checking codes. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, mixing instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Environment: Comfortable working in a food-production facility that handles finely powdered ingredients (dust mask options provided) and experiencing fluctuating temperatures.
• Reliability: Punctual and dependable attendance is required. Must have reliable transportation to the Streamwood facility.
