Job summary

Amarr Company in Shawnee, KS is seeking a reliable assembler to support the window and door production line. You will select materials, cut and drill rails, cut glass to size, assemble and package full view sections, and assist insulation as needed.

Candidates must read assembly drawings, operate saws and drills safely, use measuring devices, and perform basic math. You will lift 45–80 lbs, stand long shifts, and maintain a clean, efficient work area.

Responsibilities

Job Description and Qualifications

Job Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Responsible for selecting correct materials and having adequate supplies to meet requirements
• Responsible for cutting and drilling full view rails
• Responsible for cutting glass to size and attaching weather stripping
• Responsible for assembling and packaging full view sections
• Assist Insulation Assemblers as required
• Responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance on machines and tools
• Must be able to plan ahead , requires having material brought to department in a timely manner
• Responsible for keeping work area clean and organized
• Any other duties as required
• Ability to perform basic math functions
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings
• Ability to safely operate saws and drills
• Ability to use measuring devices, such as tapes, templates and guides
• Assumes other duties as assigned by leadership

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift 45 lbs. unassisted with or without reasonable accommodation , continuously and frequently overhead. Lifting of more than 45 lbs requires team lifting of at least 2 people .
• Continuously and/or frequently required to lift, carry, push, or pull objects ranging from 45 lbs. to 80 lbs. Weights over 45 lbs. require teamwork of at least 2 people.
• Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time (8-12 hours daily).
• Must be able to move about the manufacturing floor safely and efficiently.
• Bending, kneeling, crouching , climbing stairs and/or ladders may be required for specific work tasks.
• Ability to perform tasks that require using hands, wrists, and fingers.
• Ability to work in loud , fast paced industrial environment.
• Manual dexterity and hand to eye coordination with hand/power tools .
• M athematical and measuring skills required for quality checks and basic equipment adjustments -- equivalent to that of a carpenter or mechanic.
• Must be able to work in hot and cold environments.
