Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing, Inc. in Salina, KS is seeking a 1st Shift Forklift Operator for the Salina 7 Fabrication department. The role runs Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, focusing on safe, accurate movement of parts and materials and supporting the service and shipping functions.

You will operate a forklift, assist with cycle counts, maintain paperwork accuracy, and collaborate with a team to meet production needs while following OSHA safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use AS400 to locate parts, routes, product structure, and availability.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable attendance.
• Forklift certification preferred; training available.
• Team player with strong collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Movement of parts and material with accurate paperwork.
• Ensure proper parts and material are available at the proper place and time for the service department.
• Assist with fab line processes as needed.
• Safe and efficient operation of a forklift.
• Assist outside receiving, loading and shipping as needed.
• Inspection and routine maintenance of forklift.
• Work with cycle count program.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Follow all safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE.
