Job summary

Resource Label Group is seeking a 1st Shift Finishing Operator in Buffalo to operate label inspection equipment, slit printed material to specified widths, and ensure quality during production. You will follow job specs, read jackets, and assist with cutting, packaging, and shipping while maintaining safety and housekeeping standards.

Shift is 6:00 AM–2:30 PM with occasional overtime. This hands-on role requires basic math, attention to detail, and reliability in a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 1–3 months of related experience or training.
• Ability to read and interpret basic documents (safety rules, operating instructions).
• Ability to read a ruler and perform basic arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Receives job assignments and reads specifications to select cores and rewind method.
• Reviews job jacket to ensure finishing, packaging, and shipping specs are addressed.
• Inspects products to ensure quality and packs finished goods.
• Monitors material flow to detect irregular cuts and winding.
• Ensures quality including color, size, die cuts, perforations, print, and quantity.
• Assists in cutting, collating, wrapping, and packaging.
• Performs preventive maintenance on machines.
• Removes or replaces blades on inspection equipment.
• Completes job paperwork and packages items for shipment.
• Keeps work areas clean and organized; maintains housekeeping standards.

We are currently recruiting for a 1st Shift Finishing Operator to join our team! The 1st Shift Finishing Operator is focused on setup and operation of commercial label inspector machines to include visual quality control. They will operate equipment to slit continuous lengths of printed material into strips of specified width. This position reports to the Finishing Supervisor.

Pay Rate: $18.00-$20.00/hour Schedule: 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 6:00AM-2:30PM, with occasional overtime

Responsibilities

• Receives job assignments from Finishing Supervisor or Team Lead; reads job specifications and selects correct cores and rewind method for job
• Reviews job jacket to ensure all finishing, packaging, and shipping specifications are addressed
• Inspect products to ensure quality integrity and package products
• Observes flow of material through machine to detect irregular cutting and winding
• Ensure quality of work to include color, size, die cut, perforations, print, and quantity of packaged items being shipped
• Assist in cutting, collating, wrapping, and packaging of converting jobs
• Perform preventative maintenance on machines
• Remove or replace blades on inspection machines
• Completes paperwork for each job and packages finished goods for shipment to customer
• Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Manufacturing Experience Is Preferred

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Ability to read and interpret ruler, scales and other measurement devices.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
