Job description

About Us:
At Thern, we don’t just manufacture winches and cranes—we build solutions that move the world. Our products are trusted across industries, from construction sites to stadiums, because we believe in doing things the right way: with precision, pride, and people who care.

We’re currently looking for a Ficep Machine Operator to join our team—someone who takes pride in their work, values safety and quality, and wants to be part of a company where every part produced supports something bigger. Whether it's constructing a bridge or building a community, the work you do here has a purpose.

If you're ready to work in a place where your skills are valued, your growth is supported, and your craftsmanship is part of something meaningful, we’d love to have you on our team.

Join us at Thern—and help move the world, one part at a time.

Responsibilities:
  1. Set up and operate the Ficep machine to accurately drill steel parts according to production drawings and specifications.
  2. Read and interpret mechanical blueprints to ensure correct dimensions and tolerances are met throughout the production process.
  3. Ensure proper machine alignment, fixturing, cutting tools, and materials are selected and installed based on each job’s technical requirements.
  4. Calculate and adjust machining parameters such as speed, feed rate, coolant flow, and depth or angle of cut to optimize quality and efficiency.
  5. Input or update machine control programs following established procedures and job instructions.
  6. Start up the machine and monitor performance throughout the operation, making real-time adjustments to address malfunctions, tool wear, or tolerance issues.
  7. Perform routine quality checks using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures) to verify part accuracy and ensure parts meet required standards.
  8. Load and unload raw materials and finished parts using overhead cranes or other material-handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  9. Conduct regular machine maintenance, such as cleaning, lubricating, and checking for wear, to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.
  10. Work closely with your team and shift lead to maintain consistent workflow and communicate any quality, equipment, or material issues promptly.
  11. Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and your teammates.
Qualifications:
  1. Prior experience operating CNC or similar machining equipment in a manufacturing setting.
  2. Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measurement.
  3. Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and work instructions.
  4. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality.
  5. Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
  6. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime, as needed.
