1st shift Electromechanical Technician Apprentice

About the Role

As an Apprentice at Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing LLC, you will participate in a comprehensive training program designed to provide hands-on training and education in either a mechanical or electrical pathway. The program includes training in our apprenticeship labs, on-the-job training from experienced workers, and earning a company-paid Associates degree.

This opportunity equips you with skills and knowledge to become a technician in various mechanical and electrical departments within Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing LLC. Apprentices will specialize in the electromechanical pathway based on company needs, with growth opportunities as skills develop.

Posting Information

Benefits and Compensation
  • Starting pay of $18.40/hr. in Year 1, up to $19.14/hr.*
  • Year 2: $19.55/hr. up to $20.33/hr.*
  • Year 3: $21.85/hr. up to $22.72/hr.*
  • Year 4: $25.30/hr. up to $26.31/hr.*

Responsibilities
  • Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties, including lifting and machinery operation.
  • Apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, and machining procedures.
  • Commit to a six-year program (4 years training, 2 years workforce placement).
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, motivation, and adaptability.
  • Utilize computer systems, drawings, and specifications in assembly and troubleshooting.
  • Operate various tools and equipment.
Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Repetitive hand manipulation, tool handling, and supporting equipment.
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Maintain a clean work area and meet quality standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED; current high school seniors may apply.
  • Experience in manufacturing, especially automotive or trucking.
  • Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
Work Location and Schedule

This position is based in Byesville, OH, with no relocation assistance. It is an onsite role.
