Qualifications

Responsible for installation of all wiring, circuitry, and outlets needed to power equipment, lights, and physical structures within the facility and grounds of the property while ensuring adherence to the National Electrical Code. They are responsible for maintaining already installed systems, troubleshooting problems, and making repairs by performing the following duties:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for installation of all wiring, circuitry, and outlets needed to power equipment, lights, and physical structures within the facility and grounds of the property while ensuring adherence to the National Electrical Code. They are responsible for maintaining already installed systems, troubleshooting problems, and making repairs by performing the following duties:

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• Reading schematics and technical diagrams to determine electrical needs for new and existing equipment.
• Test and replace electrical components safely under lockout/tagout requirements. Install and replace bus duct disconnects to ensure safety of plant personnel and compliance with electrical code; replace lighting and change fuses in switch gear while equipment is energized or near energized parts.
• Fasten junction boxes, panels, and conduit securely to walls, ceilings, and structural support using power tools and hardware.
• Route and pull electrical cable through installed conduit systems to complete electrical installation process.
• Identify, diagnose, and repair electrical problems using specialized tools like voltmeters, cable testers, and other diagnostic devices.
• Inspect machinery or equipment to detect malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems and make repairs.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Utilize maintenance software and file documentation accordingly.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
• Provide technical direction and work activity instruction to other maintenance staff as needed.
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
