Job summary

Visual Pak Companies seeks a Compounding Supervisor to lead the Compounding Department, coordinating with R&D and Manufacturing to evolve formulas and processes. The role emphasizes Lean manufacturing, safety, and training while meeting production schedules and quality standards.

The candidate will manage personnel and equipment, drive continuous improvement, and partner with customers to maintain daily blending schedules across shifts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field is required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a contract manufacturing environment; 5–8 years preferred.
  • Must be flexible to support Manufacturing on all 3 shifts.
  • Experience with blending equipment, valves, piping, pumps, processing equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the Compounding Department using Lean Manufacturing concepts to drive cost, quality and schedule improvements.
  • Oversee manufacturing activities to meet quality, quantity, timeliness, and cost targets.
  • Collaborate with R&D for new product development and process improvements.
  • Develop and implement safety, training, and process documentation programs.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality issues.

Acts as liaison between the R&D and Manufacturing departments in the improvement and development of existing and new formulas and processes.Direct ReportsPosition Responsibilities-Tasks-DeliverablesAn individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. (enlarge space as needed)Provide leadership using Lean Manufacturing concepts and tools to drive continuous improvements of manufacturing highest quality product at the lowest possible cost, highest quality, according to schedule, and with the highest safety.Oversee activities related to the cost and efficiency of manufacturing product.Work with R&D in new product development and to improve manufacturing processes for existing products.Apply engineering practices to continually upgrade the quality, capacity, and efficiency of the Compounding Department.
