Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing in Salina, KS is seeking a 1st Shift Machine Operator to join our Salina facility. This role involves reading blueprints, operating manual and CNC equipment, and producing parts within tight tolerances. The position runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years experience as a machine operator or similar
• Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Able to read and interpret blueprints
• Experience with Machine Shop manual equipment (engine lathe, knee mill, drill press)
• Working knowledge of CNC equipment
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment to ensure parts are within tolerance
• Maintain accurate paperwork

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances
• Operate manual and CNC equipment to include lathes and mills
• Set up and production of parts within set tolerances
• Verify conformance of finished part to specifications
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Follow all safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE
• Other duties as required
