Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) is hiring for a manufacturing role focused on finishing engine blocks, heads and components. You will operate blasters, dip tanks, mag units, and shakers in a hands-on production environment.

The position requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lb, and following standardized work. A dependable team player with mechanical aptitude will thrive here.

Qualifications

• Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation and using power tools.
• Must be able to stand on concrete for an entire shift and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform manufacturing duties including repetitive processes, lifting, machinery use, and following standard work procedures.
• Participate in safety, quality, attendance, productivity, and housekeeping improvements.
• Install and assemble components for heavy-duty trucks.
• Operate equipment such as jigs, fixtures, pneumatic and DC tools.
• Clean & blasting engine components and use dip tanks, blasters, and shakers.
• Read and understand Work Station Instructions and adhere to rotation plans.

Inside the Role

This position is responsible for completion of baking, blasting & washing process of engine blocks, heads, and various components by way of the established remanufacturing process. Primary responsibilities include operation of blaster, dip tank, mag unit, and shakers.

• Starting pay of $20.70/hr. up to top pay of $29.21/hr.*

What You Drive at DTNA

• Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including: repetitive processes, moderate to heavy lifting, the use of machinery, and following standardized work procedures
• Actively participate in improving work area in terms of safety, quality, attendance, productivity, suggestion activities, housekeeping, and throughput
• Install and assemble components for heavy-duty trucks
• Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy
• Operate the following tools and equipment: jigs and fixtures, pneumatic and DC tools for fasteners and assembly of heavy-duty trucks
• Cleaning & Blasting engine components
• Operate hoist, air tools, dip tank, hand cart, blasters, shakers, mag units
• Properly identify component parts by learning identification numbers
• Adhere to established work rotation plan
• Complete training matrix for each rotation position
• Ability to read and understand Work Station Instructions
• Other tasks and/or duties as requested

Knowledge You Should Bring

• Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power tools
• Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds .
• Must maintain a clean work area.
• Meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement measures
• Cross train on other jobs as required

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

• Previous experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment
• Previous mechanical experience
• High School Diploma / GED preferred and further college education a plus
