Job description

Box Stacker

Packaging Team

This position is responsible for hand stacking finished cartons of various sizes and weights from production conveyors onto appropriate pallets for shipping, while ensuring all good manufacturing practices (GMP) and quality standards are met and maintaining the efficient flow of product through the production process. The following are the procedures that must be followed by all assigned box stackers.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Obtain work schedule from supervisor, obtain supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations.
  • Obtain empty pallets and position to the conveyor line according to product to be stacked. Includes lifting and carrying pallets. (approx. 50 lb.)
  • Retrieve sealed cases of various products from conveyor and hand stack cases on appropriate pallet according to work order and stack pattern. Stacker will routinely stack hundreds of cases per shift. Includes bending while carrying cases.
  • Notify Forklift Operator to remove full pallets or transport full pallet of finish goods to auto-stretch wrap machine with pallet jack to be wrapped.
  • Keep work area clear and clean, check pallets for integrity, remove damaged pallets and place trash in proper receptacle as required.
  • At end of shift, secure all equipment, perform general housekeeping duties and turn in all required paperwork.

Safety & GMP Objectives

  • Comply with all company safety policies and procedures as well as complying with all OSHA rules and regulations. (THINK “SAFETY FIRST”.)
  • Review and execute our Food Safety Plan in order to provide value to each of our customers with safe, relevant, tasty food products; while never compromising quality.
  • Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP) including proper waste disposal, attire, grooming and hygiene, etc.
  • Report all incidents/accidents to your immediate supervisor and the Director of Safety.

Other

  • Read and understand the employee handbook. Review policies and practices of MFP.
  • Complete all appropriate annual trainings.

Compensation: $18/hr

Box Stacker position is backed up by other Box Stacker on site and/or assistant foreman.
