Job Description Summary:

The Extruder Operator is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and operating machinery to ensure smooth and efficient production while maintaining a safe environment. On-the-job training will be provided, and a willingness to learn and collaborate is essential.

Responsibilities:

1. Operate all activities related to your machine during your shift.
2. Set up machines for production cycles.
3. Adjust machine settings such as speed and temperature.
4. Load plastic granules and color concentrates as per specifications.
5. Load wire reels into payoff stands, process through preheater, straightener, extruder head, die, and onto the take-up reel.
6. Monitor machine functions during operation.
7. Address and fix issues during shifts.
8. Inspect output for defects or errors.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a machine operator.
• Knowledge of process equipment, tooling, and procedures.
• Understanding of production and preventative maintenance.
• Adherence to safety regulations.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Effective working both independently and in teams.
• Attention to detail, physical stamina, and strength.
• High school diploma or GED; technical degree is a plus.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.

Shift:

• 1st shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

This position is based in Saddle Brook, NJ. Manufacturing or production experience is preferred but training will be provided to the right candidate.
