Job summary

Pratt Industries, Inc. is seeking a 1st Machine Helper for Conyers, GA, working on 2nd and 3rd shifts at the Millugator site. The role assists the Operator with machine operations and production while standing in for the Operator when needed.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma (or higher), basic math and English skills, and the ability to read a tape measure. Training will cover safety, setup, and production standards.

Qualifications

• Needs working understanding of written and spoken English.
• Must be able to read and use a non-metric measuring tape.
• Able to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Responsibilities

• Follow and ensure crew adheres to safe work policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Assist in machine setup and operation when needed.
• Ensure orders are produced according to specifications.
• Maintain production rates and complete required paperwork.

LOCATION: Millugator

2nd & 3rd Shifts

SUMMARY: Assists the Operator in overseeing all aspects of machine operation and assists in the manufacture of the items produced while assigned to the machine. Acts as the Operator when the Operator is absent.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES –

• Follow and ensure that crew members adhere to all applicable safe work policies & procedures.
• Maintain a safe & clean work area.
• Assists in ensuring the proper mechanical set up and running of the machine.
• Assists in ensuring that all orders produced are completed according to specifications provided.
• Maintain acceptable production rates.
• Complete all paper work and data entry as required.
• Assist in the training of crew members & learn to act as the operator when the operator is absent.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS -

• Must be able to assist in performing a complete mechanical set up
• Must be able to assist in accurately registering the machine
• Must be able to operate the feed, folding and delivery sections of the machine
• Must have a reasonable knowledge of current Production Software

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE -

• High School Diploma or higher preferred (but not required)

LANGUAGE SKILLS -

• Needs a working understanding of both written & spoken English

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS –

• Must be able to read & use a non metric measuring tape
• Must be able to count & perform simple mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, & division)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Able to bend and lift 70 lbs. without assistance
• Able to lift 10 lbs. continuously for prolonged periods.
• Able to stand for prolonged periods
• Able to climb stairs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work space is not climate controlled and can reach both hot and cold extremes (30 degrees – 110 degrees Fahrenheit)
