Job description

About The Role

Supporting the operation and maintenance of our critical infrastructure, including fiber, OSP, Transport, and ILA sites. Requires a strong background in ITIL incident management and experience with critical infrastructure, fiber, and Outside Plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and troubleshoot network issues, resolving incidents promptly
  • Ensure effective incident response, minimizing service disruptions
  • Proficient in ITIL incident management processes
  • Participate in change management to ensure proper planning and implementation
  • Manage service requests with timely and effective responses
  • Respond to events impacting network and service availability proactively
  • Provide technical support for ILA sites, including site communication, HVAC, power, backup generators, and batteries
  • Identify and implement service improvements aligned with business goals
  • Engage in problem management to find root causes of incidents
  • Contribute to continual service improvement activities
  • Provide KPI reports to management
  • Respect customer SLAs
  • Manage trouble tickets effectively
  • Coordinate with vendors and field services, supporting remote field operations

About You

  • Experience in a NOC Engineer role with a focus on ITIL incident management
  • Strong understanding of critical infrastructure, fiber, and OSP
  • Experience with ILA sites and systems (communication, HVAC, power, backup)
  • Optical Transport experience, Ciena 6500 preferred
  • ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent
  • Knowledge of other ITIL practices
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
  • Experience with ITSM tools and network protocols
  • Knowledge of network standards and best practices
  • Experience with network monitoring and ticketing systems
  • Basic knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls
  • Industry certifications (CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA) desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of optical networks

Technical Requirements:

Experience with technologies such as DWDM, CWDM, Ciena 6500, Infinera, Office 365, Salesforce, SharePoint.
