Yorkville CUSD 115 has an opening for a 1.0 FTE 1st Grade Teacher at Grande Reserve Elementary School for the 2025-2026 school year.

Position Summary

To facilitate student success and growth by implementing district-approved curriculum, addressing the specific educational needs of individual students, and creating a flexible, safe, and optimal learning environment. Successful candidates will provide meaningful feedback to students, parents, and administration, and support the academic and emotional development of students.

Essential Responsibilities

• Develop and administer elementary curriculum aligned with district goals.
• Promote a safe virtual classroom environment conducive to individualized and small group instruction.
• Create lesson plans and instructional materials to maximize learning time.
• Assess student learning regularly and adapt instructional methods to meet diverse needs, including students with special needs.
• Teach responsible citizenship and other subject areas as per laws and district policies.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through seminars, workshops, or research.
• Maintain accurate records of student activities, achievements, and attendance.
• Encourage parental involvement and maintain effective communication.
• Manage student conduct to foster a positive learning atmosphere.
• Collaborate with colleagues to evaluate and improve curriculum.
• Select and requisition instructional supplies and materials.
• Administer standardized tests following district protocols.

Qualifications and Skills

• Knowledge of current teaching methods, pedagogy, and differentiation strategies.
• Understanding of elementary curriculum and concepts.
• Proficiency with data systems and analysis.
• Knowledge of applicable laws regarding education and students.
• Computer literacy and effective communication skills.
• Ability to organize, coordinate, and establish cooperative relationships.

Additional Requirements

Works in standard school environments. Must hold an Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) with endorsements for K-9. Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field. Prior teaching experience is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary: $51,612 with benefits. Position is full-time, employment type: full-time, and classified as entry level.
