Job summary

BASIS Baton Rouge Mid City Campus is seeking a qualified 1st Grade Elementary Teacher to join our Academics: Classroom Teaching and Instruction team. As a BASIS Elementary Learning Expert Teacher, you address the differentiated needs of students while the Subject Expert Teachers handle core instruction, allowing a focus on individual growth.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and obtain a fingerprint clearance or state background check.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required.
• Valid fingerprint clearance and/or state background check.
• Demonstrated passion for student achievement and directed effort to raise individual student outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for one cohort of students and lead them through classroom transitions during the day.
• Collaborate with the Subject Expert Teacher (SET) for each class period.
• Utilize expertise in elementary education teaching methods to provide individualized or small group instruction to meet the differentiated needs of students.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
