Job summary

BASIS Ed Baton Rouge Mid City Campus is seeking a qualified 1st Grade Elementary Teacher to join our collaborative learning community. As a Learning Expert Teacher, you will focus on individual student needs while the Subject Expert Teacher leads core instruction.

This role requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree and Louisiana background check eligibility. You will teach in a co-taught model with two teachers, using differentiated methods to raise student outcomes and celebrate student effort.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree required.
• Valid fingerprint clearance and/or state background check.
• Demonstrated passion for student achievement and directed effort to raise individual student outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for one cohort of students and lead them through classroom transitions during the day.
• Collaborate with the Subject Expert Teacher (SET) for each class period.
• Utilize expertise in elementary education teaching methods to provide individualized or small group instruction to meet the differentiated needs of students.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
