Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned.
• Teaching certification held in multiple areas is preferred.
• Teachers must obtain ESL Certification within one year of employment.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements.
• Prepare lessons with accommodations for different learning styles.
• Present material according to TEA guidelines, board policies, and admin regs.
• Plan and use strategies, activities, and materials reflecting student needs.
• Assess student learning styles and adjust instructional activities.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Work with staff to set instructional goals and methods.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers; coordinate efforts.
• Use technology to strengthen teaching and learning.
