Job summary

Great Hearts Irving Lower School is hiring a 1st Grade Teaching Assistant/Apprentice Teacher to support a Lead Teacher in a Core Knowledge program. The role offers mentorship with a Master Teacher and paths to lead teaching positions in the future.

We welcome candidates with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (not always required) and emphasize ongoing professional development, community involvement, and alignment with the classical liberal arts mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree not required for Teaching Assistant role.
• AA degree, 60 credit hours, or ParaPro may be required in some locations.
• US work authorization is required.
• Criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Support and advance the mission of Great Hearts by contributing to a respectful, intellectually vibrant school community.
• Collaborate with teachers to support instruction, student learning, and daily classroom activities.
