Job summary

Ascension Providence Hospital in Washington, DC area is seeking a Licensed Maintenance Professional for the Maintenance Department. You will monitor SCADA/BMS, oversee boiler and power plant systems, and lead diagnostics and repairs to ensure safe, efficient operation.

Responsibilities include performing chemical testing on boilers, conducting annual boiler teardowns, and optimizing fuel-to-air ratios. A strong candidate has boiler/chiller experience and a Steam Engineer license, with preference

Qualifications

• Licensed Maintenance Professional specializing in Engineering required.
• Class 1 Steam Engineer license required prior to hire.
• 1 year boiler/chiller operator experience required.
• 2 years in high-power area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Executes daily operational rounds and SCADA/BMS monitoring across all power house equipment, taking system readings and adjusting to optimize performance.
• Installs, maintains, and repairs heavy power plant machinery, including precise motor and pump alignments.
• Performs daily chemical testing and dosage adjustments on boilers, water softeners, and condensate return systems.
• Manages annual boiler teardowns for inspection and calibrates fuel-to-air ratios for efficiency and compliance.
• Tracks real-time facility electrical usage and implements load-management changes to lower costs.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Executes daily operational rounds and SCADA/BMS monitoring across all power house equipment, taking system readings (pressure, temperature, levels) and making adjustments to optimize performance and respond to alarms.
• Installs, maintains, and repairs heavy power plant machinery, including precise motor and pump alignments to minimize wear and prevent mechanical failure.
• Performs daily chemical testing and dosage adjustments on boilers, water softeners, and condensate return systems to prevent corrosion and scale buildup.
• Manages annual boiler teardowns for inspection, adjusting and calibrating fuel-to-air ratios to ensure maximum combustion efficiency and environmental compliance.
• Tracks real-time facility electrical usage and implemented load-management changes to maintain grid stability and lower operating costs.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Licensed Maintenance Professional specializing in Engineering obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Class 1 Steam Engineer license.

Work Experience

• 1 year boiler chiller operator experience required.
