Job summary

American Carbonyl is seeking a 1st Class/2nd Class Operator to run IPC towers and related equipment at Redstone Arsenal, AL. The role includes assisting maintenance, moving finished goods, and providing shift relief as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operates IPC Towers and decomposers, power mills, and finished product packaging.
  • Operates forklifts to move material to the warehouse.

  • Performs safety equipment inspections and tags out equipment as needed.
  • Assists with maintenance and supports installation operations.
  • Cleans exterior of tanks, buildings, and equipment with a high-pressure washer.
  • Provides relief for Lead Operator when on leave.

Assists maintenance when needed and moves finished goods to the warehouse—backup to the Lead Operator. **Summary of Essential Job Functions*** Performs operator duties on IPC Towers, decomposers, power mills, and finished product packaging utilizing plant procedures.* Operates forklifts to move material to the warehouse.* Performs housekeeping of their work area.* Moves, stacks, and stores materials in the Warehouse and Plant areas using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and powered lift trucks.* Performs safety equipment inspections and makes corrections or tags out equipment as the situation indicates.* Assists with unscheduled and scheduled maintenance, using tools and equipment to support installation operations of equipment.* Cleans the exterior of tanks, buildings, and equipment with a high-pressure washer.* Assists Operators on his/her shift with production or equipment problems and notifies supervisors when needed.* Must provide relief for the Lead Operator when on leave.This role includes a structured training and qualification period. Employees will begin as a Second-Class Operator and, upon successfully completing the required training, probationary period, and qualification requirements, will be promoted to First-Class Operator.## Qualifications# Requirements* Two years of operating chemical process equipment able to demonstrate skills using basic math and able to perform maintenance functioning using traditional maintenance tools.* High School Diploma or equivalent.# Physical Demands & EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
