Job summary

First Coast Terminals is seeking a skilled 1st Class Mechanic – Box Shop to support customer equipment repairs on shipping containers in Jacksonville, FL. The role emphasizes safe operation, hands-on welding, and adherence to IICL standards for quality repairs.

The position requires at least two years of verifiable experience, forklift proficiency, and the ability to work independently in an outdoor environment. AWS welding certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of verifiable experience.
• Forklift certification and safe operation

• Excellent hand-eye coordination is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and report maintenance items.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on containers using IICL standards.
• Weld and cut for container repairs per IICL standards.
• Cut and replace container floor wood as needed.
• Cut, measure, and work with pneumatic and electrical tools.
• Report to Lead Mechanic and maintain professional conduct.
• Maintain physical condition and fitness for outdoor work.
• Be proficient with EAM maintenance and parts management software.
