Overview: Assists the Store Manager in all aspects of the daily operations of a retail store to achieve targeted productivity, sales, and profitability. Assistant Store Managers may be required to perform duties of all store personnel. 1st assistant managers are seasoned assistant managers or former store managers that will be ready for promotion to store manager within a minimum of a 90-day window.

Major Qualifications: (include but are not limited to):

  • Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a customer-friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge, and all other components of customer service.
  • Monitor operations to ensure standards are met and maintained regarding merchandise presentation, customer service, store safety, cleanliness, shrinkage, and operating cost controls.
  • Manage the store in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Assist in active recruiting, selection, training, scheduling, and evaluation of store personnel.
  • Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information, merchandise promotions, test merchandise, and advertisements.
  • Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, cleaning the store including bathroom and stockroom, vacuuming, and returning product to inventory.
  • Monitor deliveries of product movement within the store to ensure effective inventory and merchandise management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English required.
  • Assistant Manager or Store Manager experience required.
  • 1-3 years retail experience.
  • 1-3 years management experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
