Description

Kaytee is growing and currently looking to add a 1st and 2nd Shift Pellet Machine Operator to be a part of our Kaytee division based in Chilton, WI. You will be responsible for setting up and operating Pelletmill /Hammermill Equipment and Bagging Line.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions; makes adjustments or repairs as needed while assisting in the manufacturing process.
  2. Enters production codes into batching computer, sets up machine, prepares dating equipment for production, and ensures the bags and/or tape is properly running.
  3. Completes production work orders, moves/wraps pallets, confirms correct count on pallet, and records pallet completion.
  4. Inspects bags (top and bottom) to ensure quality sewing, ribbon intact, legible/correct code dating, and ID.
  5. Tests product weights; visually checks for proper product mix.
  6. Marks pallets for proper destination.
  7. Assembles hand-add barrels accurately, adding the proper amounts of vitamins/minerals, and prepares ahead as required.
  8. Follows all quality and safety initiatives in accordance with FDA and OSHA standards, including getting PCQI certified.
Qualifications
  • The ability to lift up to 50+ pounds with frequent bending, lifting, and twisting.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations (add, subtract, multiply, & divide).
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with employees in a manner promoting a team work environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze problems.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and prioritize work orders.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated heights.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
