Job Description

This is a general overview of the major responsibilities a new hire can expect to perform. The position of seafood clerk may include the following duties:

DUTIES:

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
• Maintain regular, reliable attendance
• Wrap, label, and price products
• Prepare products for the seafood case
• Suggestive selling and product sampling
• Receive products from the warehouse
• Stock, straighten, and rotate products in seafood cases and coolers
• Read and understand shelf tags
• Follow safety guidelines when using equipment
• Provide customers with proper cooking instructions
• Check and maintain temperature controls for coolers, freezers, and preparation areas
• Maintain cleanliness of work area, equipment, and seafood cases following safety and sanitation standards
• At closing, remove products from the seafood case for proper storage
• Perform other duties as assigned by store management

Training

Training will be provided at the store level.

Physical Demands

• Bending and stooping
• Working in cold, wet environments
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Standing for entire shift (4-8 hours)

Additional Requirements – Internal Candidates:

• Minimum of six months employment with Schnucks for store/facility teammates
• Minimum of one year employment with Schnucks for store support center teammates
• Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline)
• Manager approval based on performance is required if invited for an interview
