Job Description

Teamwork is essential in our Delis, where team members work together to take orders accurately, prepare fresh meals quickly, and serve customers with a smile. Schnucks Deli Clerks focus on providing excellent customer service and maintaining high product quality. They are vital for offering freshly prepared sandwiches and salads to customers ready to eat.

• Responsibilities include:
• Providing friendly and courteous service in person and over the phone
• Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment
• Following food safety, hygiene, and temperature guidelines
• Properly handling knives and sharp utensils
• Slicing and weighing meats and cheeses, with customer approval
• Knowledge of products, suggestive selling, and sampling
• Preparing sandwiches, salads, party trays, and special orders according to recipes
• Rotating and restocking products, ensuring freshness
• Operating kitchen equipment safely
• Assisting with other duties as assigned

Physical Demands: Bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, repetitive movements, exposure to temperature changes, standing/walking for 4-8 hours, lifting up to 50 lbs.

Other Requirements: Must be at least 18, demonstrate basic math skills, flexible schedule including nights, holidays, weekends, use of hair restraints, clean uniform, food safety gloves, slip-resistant shoes, and teamwork skills. Food prep experience is a plus.

Compensation Pay Range:

$15.30 - $15.75
