Job Description

This is not an official job description, but represents major responsibilities a new hire can expect to perform. The position of center store clerk includes the following:

DUTIES:

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
• Ensure regular, reliable attendance
• Stock, straighten, and rotate products on shelves in Dairy, Frozen, Non-Foods, and Grocery Departments
• Process incoming products from warehouse and direct store delivery vendors
• Read and understand shelf tags
• Sort damaged products for credit
• Operate hand jacks, power lifts, and cardboard balers
• Follow safety guidelines when using equipment
• Maintain cleanliness of shelves, displays, backroom, refrigerated cases, coolers, and freezers
• Meet company productivity standards
• Perform other duties as assigned by store management

TRAINING

Training will be provided at store level.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Bending and stooping
• Stocking 50 cases per hour
• Working in cold environments (-10 to 40 degrees)
• Pushing loaded two-wheelers (100-120 pounds)
• Pulling loaded pallets (up to 700 pounds)
• Pulling loaded stock trucks
• Lifting up to 50 pounds
• Standing entire shift (4-8 hours)

Additional Requirements – Internal Candidates:

• Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred
• Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred
• Must be in good standing (not on performance improvement plan or active discipline)
• If invited for an interview, manager approval based on performance is required

Compensation Pay Range:

$15.10 - $15.50
