Job Description

This role involves major responsibilities that a new hire can expect to perform. The position of a bakery clerk includes the following duties:

1. Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
2. Maintain regular, reliable attendance
3. Assist customers with product selections, including suggestive selling
4. Process incoming products from bakery plant and direct store delivery vendors
5. Package fresh-baked products
6. Slice and wrap fresh baked bread
7. Stock product displays in cases and on shelves
8. Rotate products and straighten displays
9. Prepare out-dated product for thrift stores
10. Order decorated cakes from the bakery plant
11. Bake cookies
12. Ensure constant cleaning of work area and equipment following safety and sanitation procedures
13. Perform other duties as assigned by store management

Training

Training will be provided at the store level.

Physical Demands

• Bending and stooping
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Work on feet for entire shift (4-8 hours)

Additional Requirements - Internal Candidates

• Minimum of six months employment with Schnucks for store/facility teammates; one year for Support Center teammates
• Must be in good standing (not on performance improvement plan or active discipline)
• If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance

Compensation Pay Range

$7.00 - $30.00
