Job summary

Sigma Defense Systems is seeking an experienced Training Specialist to develop and maintain Navy/Marine curriculum at the Coronado, CA facility. You will craft curricula, test banks, and Master Lesson Files using AIM II and MCTIMS to support Expeditionary Warfare training.

You will train instructors, conduct evaluations, review feedback, and recommend training solutions while maintaining currency and ensuring high-quality instructional products. A Secret clearance or higher is required.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of relevant experience in Navy/Marine Corps training.
  • Graduate from Navy/Marine Corps basic instructor courses and curriculum development courses.
  • Extensive experience with curriculum in an integrated Navy/Marine Corps training environment.
  • Experience as an Instructor with Expeditionary/Joint Fires (Curriculum Developer, Curriculum Administrator, Instructor).
  • Experience entering curriculum into AIM/MCTIMS authoring systems.
  • Ability to train military instructors in AIM/MCTIMS.
  • Ability to represent the command at conferences and meetings.
  • Ability to operate independently and deliver complete, standardized instructional products.
  • Ability to enter data and run reports from CeTARs and MCTIMS.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain curriculum for Expeditionary Logistics, Fires, and related programs.
  • Produce Master Lesson Files with objectives, guides, media, and tests.
  • Review AIRs and student critiques to recommend training solutions.
  • Provide monthly and on-demand training to instructor staff on curriculum procedures.

Job description

Sigma Defense is seeking an experienced Training Specialist with Navy and Marine Corps training background to provide Curriculum Development/Maintenance and Training Support to Expeditionary Warfare Training Group (EWTGPAC) in execution of its curriculum supporting Navy and Marine Corps from its Coronado, CA facility.

In this position, you will develop curriculum and maintain curriculum currency (make changes and revisions) for Expeditionary Logistics, Expeditionary Fires, Fires Support Marine Pipeline, Marine Amphibious Raid, Tactical Air and Joint Fires Programs of Instruction. You will use on-line/web-based Authoring tools in the development and revision of curriculum: Authoring Instructional Material (AIM II), the Marine Corps Training Information Management System (MCTIMS), and potentially newly identified curriculum development software daily to produce Master Lesson Files that include objectives, lesson guides that are sequenced by objectives, student guides, media that is used in the classroom, tests that measure student’s knowledge and performance. You will review and develop course test banks for alignment of tests with course content and objectives. You will support the Learning Standards Instructional System Specialists, by assisting in providing monthly, and “by-request” training to the instructor staff on the procedures for curriculum development and the review and update of existing training curriculum. You will conduct instructor evaluations, making recommendations to the Instructional System Specialists on the certification of new instructors and the annual evaluation of certified instructors. You will review student critiques and “After Instruction Reports” (AIRs) and make recommendations on training solutions.

  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be a graduate from Navy and Marine Corps basic instructor courses and curriculum development courses.
  • Must have extensive experience working with curriculum in an integrated Navy/Marine Corps training environment.
  • Must have performed as an Instructor with Expeditionary/Joint Fires experience with the following specialized curriculum:
    • Curriculum Developer
    • Curriculum Administrator
    • Instructor
  • Must have experience and exhibit the ability to enter curriculum into the Authoring Instructional Material (IAM) and the Marine Corps Training Instructional Management System (MCTIMS) authoring systems.
  • Must exhibit the knowledge and ability to train military instructors in the use of command directed authoring systems (AIM/MCTIMS).
  • Must possess the ability to represent the command at various conferences and meetings on matters under the cognizance of the N9 Learning Standards Directorate and in support of the command mission goals.
  • Must possess the ability to operate independently, planning, scheduling, and executing projects and programs, and must have the ability to deliver professional, complete, accurate, and standardized instructional products.
  • Must have the ability to enter data and run reports from Navy and Marine Corps training databases (Corporate Enterprise Training Activity Resource System (CeTARs) and (MCTIMS).
Personnel Clearance Level:
  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Clearance may be sponsored for the right candidate.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $118,000 annually
