Job summary

Nortal is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails & React) to join our LATAM remote team working with US clients. You will act as a self-sufficient technical partner to PMs and leadership, delivering features across the platform with AI-assisted development practices.

You will mentor juniors, improve processes, and collaborate with product stakeholders to plan and ship high-quality code in a fast-paced fintech/asset management context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar.
• Strong hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails and React.
• Proven track record operating at a Senior engineer level.

Responsibilities

• Own timing, coordination, and follow-up for assigned projects.
• Partner with Product Managers on scoping and prioritization.
• Design, build, and ship high-quality code using Rails and React.

About the project

You’lljoin a product engineering team for a growing platform company in the fintech and alternative asset management space. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will act as a self-sufficient, trusted technical partner to Product Managers and project leadership, helping plan, build, and deliver features across the company’s core platform.You’llbring togetherstrongfull-stack engineering skills, mentorship, and modern AI-assisted development practices to drive high-quality, consistent delivery.

Whatyou’lldo

• Own the timing, coordination, and follow-up for your assigned projects and initiatives, working self-sufficiently while knowing when to ask for help.
• Partner directly with Product Managers on scoping, planning, and prioritization of features across the platform.
• Design, build, and ship high-quality code at a consistent pace using Ruby on Rails and React, with regular status communication.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers on best practices, code quality, and problem-solving approaches.
• Contribute to and help improve team processes and procedures, supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
• Incorporate AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code) into your daily engineering workflow to accelerate delivery.

What makes you a great fit

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar.
• Strong hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails and React.
• Proventrack recordoperating at a Senior engineer level (or equivalent).
• Comfortable working directly with Product Managers, not just other engineers.
• Experience mentoring or coaching junior engineers.
• Solid debugging and problem-solving skills across the stack.
• Strong communicationskills, both async and in real time.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools as part of your daily workflow.
• Preferred: experience with Salesforce, or exposure to fintech, private capital, or alternative asset management.
• Advanced English Level isrequiredfor this role, as you will work with US clients. Effective communication in English is essential to deliver the best solutions to our clients and expand your horizons.
