ALTEN Mexico is seeking a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer focused on automotive interior lighting systems. You will lead cross-functional teams, defining development plans and ensuring requirements with cost, weight, and quality targets are met.

The role requires strong program management, DFMEA/DVP&R knowledge, and the ability to influence stakeholders without formal authority. Travel within North America is expected.

Aufgaben

• Technical program management for a vehicle line, acting as the single point of contact between design and other functions (PM, engineering, manufacturing).
• Ensure system meets functional and performance requirements while controlling cost, weight, investment, timing, and quality.
• Lead system responsibilities from launch through end of life, including cost/weight analysis and supplier management.
• Coordinate technical issue resolution across engineering and quality teams at all program stages.
• Support plant development and launch activities onsite as a launch team member.
• Define and update the vehicle development plan to ensure feature availability at all stages.
• Release specifications to suppliers and manage Change Management through DCRs.
• Oversee warranty performance post-launch and lead VO activities to meet targets.
• Lead activities for Value Optimization through teardown events and supplier meetings.
• Knowledge of tooling and manufacturing processes (molding, stamping, welding, etc.).
• Review DFMEAs and DVP&Rs to ensure robust designs.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities; travel to NA plants required.

Main responsibilities:

• Technical program management for one vehicle lines by being the key point of contact between the design team and all other functional areas such as vehicle program management, engineering departments and manufacturing.

• Responsible for ensuring that the systems meet all functional and performance requirements while meeting cost, weight, investment, timing, and quality objectives.

• Lead system responsibilities at any point from launch phase through end of life. Provide dedicated support of bulletin response which may include concept studies, initial packaging, cost and weight analysis, prototype procurement, supplier management, sourcing, tooling kickoff, validation, launch, program maintenance, change management, value optimization, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Coordinate technical issue resolution pertaining to engineering and quality at all stages of the program and across all functional areas.

• Must support plant development and launch activities onsite as a visible member of the launch team representing respective function.

• Define, share, and update the vehicle development plan to guarantee the coherency of the vehicle behavior and the availability of the planned features at all stages.

• Release the Specification to all Suppliers and manage the Requirements Change Management process through Design Change Requests (DCR) to ensure the alignment of Requirements with Product Planning requests, bug fixes and feedback from Suppliers.

• Responsible for warranty performance post launch and lead activities at plant such as warranty table for all commodities under your umbrella to meet target.

• Responsible for leading activities for Value Optimization to meet established targets for each program by supporting teardown events, supplier VO meetings, processing ideas thru ILO process (0-4).

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

• Engineering experience with an emphasis on Interior components at either an OEM or supplier.

• General knowledge of tooling and manufacturing processes including molding, stamping, welding, brazing, machining, casting, and coatings.

• Strong leader with entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to sell ideas to all stakeholders.

• Proven capability in problem solving and root-causing.

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Basic financial understanding with ability to maintain program budget.

• Proven experience in program management with the ability to set a timeline and execute at the required milestones.

• Requirements Management / Change Management basics.

• Must be able to lead and manage suppliers.

• Proven capability to develop parts/systems in co-design with third parties (Tier 1s).

• Ability to review and apply component and system Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis DFMEAs and DVP&Rs.

• Must be able to manage multiple concurrent activities.

• Experience in DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) proactive and/or reactive quality tools a plus.

• Ability and knowledge to create effective presentations.

• High level of experience with MS Office tools.

• Ability to effectively operate both independently and as part of a team.

• Knowledge of Stellantis systems and/or products a plus.

• Some travel required to supplier and vehicle assembly plants in North America.

Language: Intermediate-advanced English (technical comprehension and international team communication).
