Sigma Defense Systems is seeking a Technical Writer to convey complex information from our systems and procedures in a clear, concise manner for customers. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer with a keen interest in technology and will interact with subject matter experts across disciplines.

Required qualifications include an associate degree or higher in a writing or science field, or 4+ years of effective technical writing experience. Must be a U.S.

• Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences.
• Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Educational requirements include an Associate's degree or higher in writing or science, or four years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive documentation pertaining to the systems delivered to customers.
• Research, outline, write, and edit content with input from multiple departments.
• Gather information from subject-matter experts to create procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
• Collaborate with development and support leads to identify repositories and optimize data storage.
• Create and maintain information architecture templates for easy data migration.
• Develop content for alternative media forms with a consistent voice.

Personnel Clearance Level:

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):

• The candidate will develop comprehensive documentation pertaining to the systems that we deliver to our customers. Communicating this information in a simple and concise manner will be crucial as we continue to provide quality products to our customers.
• Research, outline, write, and edit content while working closely with various departments to understand project requirements.
• Gather information from subject-matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
• Work with development and support leads to identify documentation repositories, revise, and edit, and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage.
• Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that adhere to organizational and legal standards allowing for easy data migration.
• Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with consistent voice across all documentation.

Salary Range: $55,000- $70,000 annually.
