Position Summary

The Truck Driver is responsible for keeping the truck in good working order, picking up donations around the area, completing donation pickups, and helping unload donated items at the warehouse. The role involves ensuring timely route completion and maintaining safety standards.

Essential Functions

  1. Plan daily routes based on assigned pickups.
  2. Adhere to the operations manual and all policies and procedures set by the Business Administrator and the Corps Officer.
  3. Ensure the safety and security of the truck and equipment, including securing the truck at the end of each day. Report any accidents and recommend repairs or modifications to the supervisor.
  4. Maintain good customer relations by providing prompt and courteous service. Report any issues immediately to the supervisor.
  5. Assist with volunteer training and oversee volunteers, ensuring proper procedures are followed.
  6. Uphold safety and security protocols for the area and equipment, observing all safety rules and regulations. Report violations and accidents involving injury or property damage.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist intermittently or continuously. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files and cabinets, reach overhead, and lift up to 40 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. California Driver License
  2. Forklift Certification
  3. Bilingual in English and Spanish (Preferred)
  4. Effective communication skills and positive interaction with customers and staff
  5. Knowledge of moving procedures and equipment
  6. Cleanliness, tidiness, and neatness
  7. Ability to supervise employees and volunteers
