Job summary

THIBODAUX HIGH SCHOOL is seeking a School Custodian to perform cleaning, maintenance, and security tasks across the Lafourche Parish facility. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to operate power tools, ladders, and routine equipment safely.

Responsibilities include housekeeping, transporting supplies, and attending training to improve skills. Valid driver’s license and reliability are essential for daily operations at the Thibodaux site.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in school maintenance.
• Ability to perform work and care for tools, materials, and equipment safely.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs daily.
• Ability to climb ladders and work on scaffolding.
• Safety oriented and able to maintain safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning and preventive maintenance tasks on tools and equipment.
• Maintains classrooms, grounds, and entire site.
• Transports tools, supplies, equipment, and materials on school sites as needed.
• Attends training opportunities to improve skills.
• Operates power tools such as saws, drills, wrenches.
