Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Hospital-Based Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive nursing care for diverse patient populations on a night shift (7P–7A). The RN will follow nursing processes, collaborate with the care team, administer medications, and support discharge planning while upholding patient safety and quality standards.

Qualifications include an Associate Degree in Nursing, KY RN licensure, BLS, and potential unit requirements for PALS/ACLS.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current KY RN licensure or compact license to practice in Kentucky.
• BLS required; PALS/ACLS may be required depending on unit.
• New-grad RN may participate in Nurse Residency program as part of onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients across age groups using established nursing processes.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patient responses.
• Develop and adjust individualized care plans with input from the care team.
• Collaborate with patients and families to ensure safe discharge planning.
• Mentor less-experienced staff and supervise students as needed.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, safety and quality standards.
