Job summary

Orange County Jail in Orlando, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide medical care, assessments, and clinical oversight in collaboration with medical providers. The RN will perform sick call triage, complete orders per SOP, and ensure compliance with Corrections Health Services protocols.

Applicants must hold a Florida RN license, be able to work nights and weekends, and demonstrate proficiency with computers.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current Florida license as a registered nurse.
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Proficient in the use of computers.
• Preferences: Surgical; One year emergency or critical care nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides medical care, treatments, medication and clinical oversight in conjunction with medical providers to patients at the Orange County Jail.
• The RN is responsible for accurately completing physical assessments, sick call triage and signing off orders per SOP.
• Maintains compliance with Corrections Health Services policies and completes logs and counts as required.
• Monitors medication administration timeliness and responds to variances in treatment regimens.
• Obtains samples and supports laboratory examinations; assists physicians in clinic areas.
