Job summary

AGY is seeking a Shift Supervisor for our on-site fiberglass yarn manufacturing facility in South Carolina. You will oversee roughly 30 hourly union employees on a 12‑hour rotating shift, ensuring safety, efficiency, and production targets while maintaining a collaborative work environment.

Key duties include supervising daily operations, enforcing safety standards, coaching staff, and communicating across departments to optimize performance and meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role in manufacturing.
• Strong leadership and teamwork abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; safety-conscious mindset.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the activities of hourly union employees on the production floor to meet targets and quality standards.
• Promote and enforce safety protocols; conduct safety audits and address hazards promptly.
• Monitor and manage production processes to achieve daily and weekly targets.
• Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to staff; foster a collaborative team environment.
• Identify and resolve operational issues; drive continuous improvement for efficiency and productivity.
• Maintain clear communication with management and other departments; conduct regular shift meetings.
• Prepare and maintain records and reports on production, safety, and employee performance.
