Description

We seek consistent and caring volunteers for our academic enrichment programs. Our tutoring and mentoring programs provide vital academic and social/career support to school-aged youth. Tutors meet with youth for one to three hours weekly, Monday through Thursday after school, across the school year, with a minimum commitment of one hour per week for at least one semester. Mentors support youth through academic and social challenges, including career guidance and peer pressure, using a curriculum to guide conversations. Mentors and mentees meet weekly on Tuesdays at 4 pm for an hour. Volunteers should be available for at least one semester, preferably the entire year. No teaching experience is required; passion for helping youth, good communication skills, and patience are preferred.
