Shift Available: Days 7A-7P (36 hours/week)

Cross Country Search has joined forces with an outstanding Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK, in search of a Full Time, Registered Nurse for the Medicine Stepdown/Intermediate Unit. This Medicine Stepdown/Intermediate unit consists of 27 beds, 11 Step Down and 16 Med/Surg beds. This unit is looking for motivated, compassionate, and disciplined nurses craving a stimulating, learning experience, and a strong team environment! This unit cares for a variety of both lower acuity and complex critically ill patients with multifaceted disease processes requiring higher level of care and closer monitoring. The Medicine Stepdown/Intermediate unit offers a challenging environment where you can develop and enhance your complex nursing skills while making a significant impact on your community!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician order on assigned patients.
• Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
• Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary.
• Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Delivers patient care competently.
• Interacts with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge.
• Informs patient and family of hospital procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
• ACLS (American Heart Association) required within 1 year if working step down.
• One (1) year of RN experience is preferred for this position. If you have less than one (1) year of RN experience, please search for positions titled “RN Resident” to start the application process.
• Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License.
