Job summary

CCMS & Associates is seeking a 1099 Residential or Commercial Field Adjuster in Madison, Wisconsin. This contractor role requires performing field inspections and estimating using Xactimate, with a focus on first-party property claims and timely communication with clients.

You will investigate claims, prepare statements, loss and denial letters as needed, and maintain high-quality reporting in accordance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of first-party property adjusting experience.
• Must maintain own estimating software, Xactimate preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and online tools.
• Ability to obtain statements and interview officials; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct residential and commercial field inspections using Xactimate.
• Investigate claims via statements and interviews with insureds, claimants, officials.
• Estimate reserves and prepare reserve reports.
• Obtain and interpret official reports; assess coverage issues.
• Produce well-documented captions/reports for clients.
• Maintain quality by following best practices.

We are answering a call to action to expand our roster - join us as a 1099 Residential or Commercial Field Adjuster!

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year first-party commercial and/or residential property adjusting experience
• Maintain own current estimating software - Xactimate preferred (Cotality a plus)
• Working computer with internet access and Microsoft Word
• Strong time management and customer service skills
• Experience in preparing Statement of Loss, Proof of Loss, and denial letters

Responsibilities:

• Complete residential and commercial field property inspections utilizing Xactimate software
• Investigate claims by obtaining recorded statements from insureds, claimants, or witnesses and by interviewing fire, police, or other governmental officials as well as inspecting claimed damages
• Recommend claim reserves based on investigation, through well-supported reserve report
• Obtain and interpret official reports
• Review applicable coverage forms and endorsements, provide a thorough analysis of coverage and any coverage issues in a well-documented initial captioned report to the client
• Maintain acceptable product quality through compliance with established best practices

Knowledge and Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of property and liability insurance coverage and industry standards
• Ability to prepare full-captioned reports by collecting and summarizing required information
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Prompt, reliable, friendly, and professional

Preferred but Not Required:

• AIC, IICRC, HAAG or other professional designations
